The singer released her debut single Here in 2015, when she was just 19. It was a hugely acclaimed track by critics as well as the public. The song reached the top 19 of both the Billboard Hot 100 in Canada and also on the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the song among the 2015's most memorable Songs. She released her debut Know It All album in the year that followed. The third single, Scars to Your Beautiful was one of five songs that reached the top spots on Billboard which included Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as Billboard Hot 100. This track was special because, based on her interview with Rap-Up that she conducted, many of the listeners could relate to her experience in finding love for themselves, as well as doubting herself. Cara's music is known to contain messages of love, self-love and mental health. She's been in the midst of anxiety and insomnia, both of which affected her life. According to a Reuters interview, she describes the album as being half turbulent and half complete. Her growth was aided by therapy and encourages other people to seek out help when needed. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto in Canada. She was born on July 11th, 1996 to parents of Italian origins. Her parents gifted her with their first guitar when she was 10. It was the beginning of her journey musically. She started covering her favorite songs when she was 13, to prove to the world she was a talented musician and the determination required to be the next singer. Sweater Weather became her most popular cover. A record label, EP Entertainment, noticed her and allowed her to write songs.
