As a total, James participated in 10 NBA Finals, the third-most ever. This includes eight straight between 2011 and 2018. James was selected for the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021. In 2022, he became the very first NBA player to score 10,000 career points. James played basketball with St. Vincent St. Mary High School within his home town of Akron Ohio and was heavily advertised by national media for his potential as an NBA superstar. In 2003, the Cleveland Cavaliers selected him with the first pick of the NBA draft in 2003. The 2004 NBA Rookie of the Year, He quickly established himself as one of the league's premier players, winning the NBA MVP title in both 2009 and 2010. James signed for the Miami Heat in 2010 when James became a Free Agent after not achieving the title with Cleveland. The announcement of his departure was broadcast in The Decision.
