The singer released her debut single Here in 2015 when she was 19. The song was widely acclaimed by critics as well as fans. It peaked at number 19 on the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Cara's music often contains positive messages regarding mental wellness and the importance of being self-love. All of Cara's music stems directly from her battle with insomnia, mental illness and other health issues. In a Reuters interview, she has described her album half tumultuous but half perfected. She claims she has grown through therapy and she encourages others to seek help when they need it. Alessia Cara, a Canadian musician, was born in Canada on 11 July 1996 of Italian parents of Italian descent. Her parents purchased her a brand new guitar which she utilized to discover her love for music. 2013 was the year she recorded her favorite songs for YouTube, a popular social media site. The goal was to prove that she had both the capability and the self-confidence to pursue a career as an artist. A cover of one of her songs, Sweater Weather, was what got her noticed. EP Entertainment gave her the opportunity to create and record her own tracks.
