The singer released her debut single, Here, in 2015, when she was just 19 years old. It received praise by music critics as well as listeners. It peaked at number 19 on the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the hit one of the Best Songs in 2015. Her debut Know It All album in the year that followed. The third single, Scars to Your Beautiful was the first of five tracks which reached the top spots on Billboard which included Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as Billboard Hot 100. It was a special track due to her interview with Rap-Up that she did with the listeners could connect to her experiences of finding love for themselves, as well as doubting herself. Cara incorporates messages about compassion and self-love into her music. Her inspiration for her music is derived from her own struggle in overcoming mental health issues and insomnia. In an Reuters interview she describes her album as half tumultuous and half complete. She says she grew by therapy and is adamant about encouraging others to seek help when they need it. Alessia Cara, a Canadian musician born in Canada on 11 July 1996, was a daughter of Italian descent parents. When she was 10 years old, her parents gifted her a guitar which became the foundation of her love for music. She began to cover her favorite songs when she was 13 to prove to everyone that she had the skills and the courage necessary to be an artist.
