Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande-Butera,/,a.ri'a.n@ 'gra?ndeI/ ARIEAH-n@ GRAHN, day; [note 1born on 26 June 1993) is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Her four-octave vocal range, and signature use of the whistle register are praised by both the media and critics. Grande has received many awards throughout her career including two Grammy Awards, one Brit Award, one Bambi Award, two Billboard Music Awards and three American Music Awards, nine MTV Video Music Awards, and thirty Guinness World Records.

Grande began her career in music at the age of 15 during the 2008 Broadway musical 13. Grande rose to stardom as Cat Valentine on Nickelodeon's television series Victorious (2010 to 2013) and as Sam & Cat(2013 from 2013 to 2014). After watching YouTube videos of Grande performing her own songs, Republic Records signed Grande in the year 2011. Her 1950s doo-wop-influenced pop and R&B debut album, [2] You're Truly (2013), topped the US Billboard 200, while the lead track, "The Way", was a top 10 hit on the US Billboard Hot 100. The album was immediately being compared to Mariah Carey's duet voice as well as whistle register.

She continued to explore pop and R&B in her third and second album, My Everything (2014) and Dangerous Woman (2016). My Everything experimented with EDM and gained global acclaim with the singles "Problem", "Break Free" and "Bang Bang" as well as Dangerous Woman became her first of four consecutive top-five albums in the UK. Sweetener (2018), and Thank U, Next (2019), were her fourth and fifth studio albums respectively, which included trap music. Both albums were commercially and critically highly acclaimed. Sweetener was awarded the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album. Thank U Next set the record for the largest streaming week of pop albums and was nominated for Album of the Year. Grande became the first solo artist to reach the top three positions of the Hot 100 and become the first woman to achieve the number one spot on the UK Singles Chart with the singles "Thank U. Next", "7 Rings" and "Break up with Your Girlfriend. She beat the Hot 100 record for the most number-one debuts with Justin Bieber's 2020 collaboration "Stuck with U" with Lady Gaga. The latter won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Grande has expanded her trap music genre with her sixth studio album, Positions (2020), which both the album and the album's title track debuted at number one in both the UK as well as the US. Grande collaborated with The Weeknd for the remix of "Save Your Tears" and was her sixth US top-ranked single.
