Rodarius Marcell Green[2] (born on August 27, 1998) also known as Rod Wave, is an American musician and rapper. [3][4][5] He is known for his powerful vocals and the incorporation of hip hop and R&B,[2and has been recognized as a pioneer in soul-trap.Wave gained notoriety with the 2019 single "Heart on Ice" and went viral on YouTube as well as TikTok and peaked at number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100. Wave's debut album Ghetto Gospel (2019) peaked at number 10 in the US Billboard 200. [8] His second album Pray 4 Love (2020) peaked at the top of the Billboard 200 at number 2,[9and ranked at number 9. It featured the song "Rags2Riches" which climbed to number 12 on the Hot 100. The third album SoulFly (2021) was released at the top of the Billboard 200, marking his first chart-topping single. The Wave's career began in the year 2016 with the launch of his mixtape Hunger Games Vol.1. He released mixtapes in the independent market before signing with Alamo Records. The mixtape PTSD was released on the 14th of June in 2019. It featured the track "Heart on Ice". The song became a viral success via YouTube and TikTok. It reached number 25 on Billboard's Hot 100. The debut album of Wave Ghetto Gospel was released on November 1, 2019. It peaked at number 10 on the US Billboard 200. On April 3, 2020, Rod Wave released his second album, "Pray 4 Love". The album debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200, with a deluxe edition following the 7th of August. Nine songs from the album charted on Billboard Hot 100, including "s" (featuring ATR Son Son),[11][12][13that hit the top 12 spot on the Hot 100 and became his highest-charting hit song. [14] On August 11 in 2020, Wave was included on the XXL's 2020 freshman class. In July 2020, Wave revealed during an interview that he was in the process of putting together his third album, which was originally scheduled for August 27 and 28, 2020. 2 On March 6 2021, 2021, he released the list of tracks for SoulFly. One of his top-charting tracks, "Street Runner", was also included in the album. It reached the top spot at 11 on the Hot 100. [18][19The album also includes the song "Tombstone."
